Kamisado
Kamisado is a colorful and highly strategic board game by Peter Burley, which is designed for two players and in its structure a little like chess.
In setting up the game, especially the pronounced bright colors catch the eye. The game board is like a chess board divided into 64 squares. However, these are not black and white, but in eight colors varied.
There is also Sixteen octagonal towers in the same eight colors as the playing field. One half is a golden and the other half with a black kite marked. Matching the players are black and gold rings that can be placed on the towers in three different sizes.
Each player now places his towers on their own "home range", ie the series, which the player is nearest. The colors of the towers must each match the colors of the field.
Now you can already start the first round, which aims to achieve with its own dragon tower, the home range of the enemy. During the round, players take turns on the train. Here, a tower is moved in a straight line, either directly to front or diagonally forward. So there must be a forward movement to take place, not sideways or even back possible. The tower can then be brought forward by any number of fields, but should not a field with one other tower will be skipped.
The first train, the first player to choose which of his eight towers move he wants. Then the tower of the opponent is set. He has to take the tower, which matches the color of the square on which ended the previous train of the opponent has.
be set depending on your mood before the game has a number of points (1, 3, 7 or 15) in which the game should be stopped. Depending on one's can thus be speculated between 20-90 minutes.
In order to make things even more complex, there is a variation where each tower of the opponent's home row reaches a sumo ring gets. This tower now gets the skills, but also limitations. The tower is indeed powerful, but also slow the move on the field. So such a novice can grow with the game.
Kamisado is consistently a strategic game, which forgives only in very rare cases errors. Not only the look is reminiscent of chess, and the feeling goes in this direction. It is always align their own train so that the opponent can cause in its turn, train little damage. Here there is a distinct advantage. You always must keep to the figure of the enemy in the next train.
The game is great fun and has a certain addictive, but with restrictions. Again, I can only draw the comparison to chess ... only then ... if the enemy collide in Kamisado at eye level ...
