Zombies roam the city and are as hungry as ever! No place is safe from them, no place to hide no matter how well chosen. This raises the question whether there still is a safe place to escape the painful death? The answer: "The Prison" criminals are locked in their cells, there are large stocks of food and the building like a fortress. A zombie would not come into it so quickly. But what happens when an infected employee enters the building and so the plague broke out there too?
In the 8th Like expansion pack to play the role of a detainee who escaped the death sentence again. Zombies 8 can also independently (with the play material of the base game) or play along with the base game plus any extensions.
The game are at a total of 16 map tiles that make up the prison complex. These are not considered as the base game in succession, but at the start of completion. The 32 new event cards are geared to the prison atmosphere.
All players start together in the closed section. Of course, the prison authorities had certain security measures for such "criminals" to take. Each player wears a straight jacket at the beginning of what he has to get rid of during the game. For this purpose, the active player rolls a dice at the beginning of his turn. He rolls a 6, he has managed to free themselves from the straitjacket, otherwise it will try again in the next round.
Zombies in 8 apply the basic rules of the base game, but there are also a few new features. There is thus now possible to avoid zombies. If one encounters a zombie and rolls a 3, so it differs from this and continues its motion without adding the zombie in his collection. In a 4 or higher you have defeated him and allowed him to take.
Of course it is not easy to force a zombie in the knee, even if it is tied. As long as one wears a straitjacket, you can not kill zombies, but just avoid them! Also you can use in this situation, no weapons or equipment, then you have no "hands free".
If you play zombies eight independently, so the ultimate goal to get out of jail. To be able to leave this, you have to fight their way through to the prison, located on the opposite side of the closed institution. But without a key, the outbreak is proving to be impossible. Only those who are a matching card "You come out of jail free" owns, manages to escape into the (hopefully secure) freedom.
Zombies 8 is still so lucky says, as his predecessor. The only thing that has changed is the scene of action. The idea of breaking out of prison, I find it quite good. Also, that you start out in a straitjacket and thus put the zombies prefer to go out of the way, is a clever innovation. This also poses problems. Since you may not use any objects in this situation, the zombie hunting is very difficult or even impossible. Here we have "free from a straitjacket," an event card enclosed with the game!
The illustrations are as usual very clearly designed for adults and adolescents over 16 years. The cards make it a very solid impression. Who is like the basic game, again have a field day. The theme is well staged, and can be played independently fine. However, if you looking for innovation and change will be more disappointed.
