Agricola

Author :: Jens in Agricola

agricola Agricola is a board game by Uwe Rosenberg for one to five players. It was released in 2007 by Verlag Lookout Games. The player is responsible for a farm (Agricola is Latin and means "farmer") to build. Using crops and livestock must be fed constantly growing family. Large and small purchases such as a cooker and training of workers enable more efficient management.

The complexity of the game is the charm. To learn the game completely, it is a beginner, an interactive and complex variant of the strategies vary greatly and enhance the tactical capabilities.

Each player starts the game, a farmer and his wife, who must manage the farm. It does this in 14 rounds for agriculture and livestock to move and enlarge the family. These still need to extend the living space to erect fencing for livestock and grow crops on the fields after the farmer has plowed them.

For these same actions are awarded victory points at the end and reveal the winner of the game. In each round, the individual family members to perform an action. The larger the family, the more actions you can perform per round.

It is also the family members to train, as well as small and large purchases to make, so you can feed more members. As a basis to start the game there are 7 little acquisition training and 7 cards per player, which are intended by chance. It is not possible to obtain new cards during the game.

The game is faster then ended, as one might, for there is never really possible to have expanded the farm to function well within a short time.

Due to the high number of cards that can take many may overlook many games, the game remains exciting, varied and no play is the same. However, I think the game as a family game suitable for less. The rules are too complex and is not to learn in a few minutes. However, it is the game really worth to do it yourself. It is not only because of the complexity, but also because of its proximity to reality is a real treat for any gaming fan. Give the game time, two passes, then you will love it.

The game is graphically very high quality material. It used to be wooden tokens. In the new edition to the game by now some 08 modifications have been made. There is also the L-Z and the X-deck as expansion cards.
