Game 09 - Messe Essen Tour
These were in fact "international game days" for us, with an emphasis on international. With business cards from Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, England, Belgium, Holland and the United States and a trunk full of games from those same countries and the numerous small and large German publishing houses, we're excited by the diversity of this year's fair. Our "tour" - report describes our very subjective and highly aggregated impressions of our visit to the fair.
What's Your Game - Vasco da Gama
In the Italian publishing "What's your game", we acquired a copy of "Vasco da Gama", based on the scorecard of the magazine "Fairplay" before "power games" (eggertspiele), "Macao" (alea), "Magister Navis" (Lookout Games) and "Dungeon Lords" (CGE) was trading at place 1. The game we will introduce in the near future.
Days Of Wonde r
Our Vampires, which we had in the Small World Competition brought in the summer, unfortunately, have not made it into the price ranks, but the two extensions of "Cursed" and "girl power" promising winner. We want to emphasize that we have the idea of participation by players and fans to find really good extensions. The train to train extension "1912" while we were lying, because we have "1910" is not ripped from the stool, and we could see no added value.
Abacusspiele
Zooloretto As fans, we look forward alongside the new extension "Zooloretto Exotic" and via the "Grizzly" was received as a give-away at Abacusspiele. Even a small extension for the monument was to be had at the booth.
Czech Games Edition
Actually, we would have liked, "taken Dungeon Lords", but we were too late. The game with the cute little gnomes were sold out on Saturday on the entire game. We contented ourselves with the equally interesting "The Shipyard" and made a Enddeckung the child's play "My Name is Bunny Moose. In this game you can not fail to give some "hand signals" to. The game is definitely on the short list for our year's New Year's Eve game night.
Czech Board Games
The second Czech publishing house, we saw "insula", which graphically displays a little getting used to, but with the announcement, coupled with competing cooperative elements that had aroused curiosity.
Ludoart - Darwinci
Unfortunately, this was the only game we have played extensively in a nice 4-Round. In Darwinci bid, the player template - cards which they are combined on a 3 × 4 cards limited area, then to make assessments for various combinations of mythical characters into money. Identify the buyers of the cards by a skeletal majorities - system, in which the players must do sometimes opposing majorities - stones. Despite the usual excellent game at LudoArt atmosphere could not quite convince us the game because we lacked a little depth.
Catan GmbH
In addition to the fans - Extension of "The Settlers of Catan: treasures, dragons & Discovery", we have taken the Catan - Schedule for Bayern Munich as a present for our friends.
Lookout Games
The CZ deck and Moorbauern are for us as Agricola fans a must. Yes, it was full at the fair formally makers from Orange and white Lookout t-shirts. Some of you gave away himself as Agricola L-Deck Card.
H @ ll games
Uwe Rosenberg's "Outside the gates of Loyang" is playing material from her resemblance to Agricola, but does not require as much fixtures - surface, because the cards used can be placed with in the delivery.
Pegasus Spiele
Finally! Munchkin Quest - the board game and the pandemic extension "The Razor's Edge" are two tracks on which we had literally been waiting for. Pegasus Games was represented with a total of two large booths at the fair, to not only represent his many boardgame news, but also his role-playing department.
PD Publishing - Imperial 2030
As a very friendly contact we felt the PD-publisher with his current version of Imperial. We had already fallen, the earlier version very well, but the Pd-publishing has made a few really successful design changes to Imperial in 2030 and designed so that the game round. The most striking difference is the schedule: Imperial 2030 plays on a world map instead of as previously on a map of Europe.
Wolf Fang - Poland
At the stand of the Polish publishing house, we were due to the comic-like, slightly Manga - stopped inspired outfits for the games and then took spontaneously with the novelty "Kazaam" - Dice Game. Since we did not know that we bekleben which contained a total of 32 cubes themselves had
. Toll, however, we find that the board be composed of four puzzle pieces must.
Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG)
Proper Ami - mood came at AEG (... I do not know that from German kitchens? ...). On the stand was really happening and the new games have met with interest. In "The Adventurers," you could be overwhelmed as a player even from a rock. "The Adventurers has already been presented exclusively at GenCon, and there had already causing a stir. Furthermore, we decided to use the jigsaw puzzle "Infinite City" including the expansion cards, "Guild Hall" and "Salvage Yard"
Mystics.NL - Day & Night
Our neighbors Holland had received for her 2-player board game of the International Gamers Award 2009, which we called attention to the game. Really good pure 2-player games have become somewhat rare ....
DausendDodeDrolle - Silk Road
The publisher with the most original name far and wide for the first time presented an adult board game: "Silk Road" not to be confused "(with the 1998 Games in Schmidt published" The Silk Road ") takes us to the ancient Near East and trading regions in the world of caravans. Not uninteresting!
Tournaments:
We had already read on Facebook that DOW had launched the "train to train World" and decided to take a few pictures from the tournament to be held during the fair. But unfortunately, Wrong! In addition to the current German champions had only one other participant, so that the agile tournament director invited us to participate. Unfortunately, this did not fit into our schedule, so that the tournament had to turn out well.
In hindsight, taking place, we believe that the tournament would have had better jump at the booth of DOW are not in a remote, hard to find room. Made it better, "Lucky Hans", which hosted its Carcassonne World Championship at the booth in the hall and could thus also be interested enough spectators.
Chess:
An impressive demonstration of the permanent blitz yielded two opponents who were playing the format Turbo flash. With a cooling off period of one minute per player, managed the two nearly 9000 games. ...
