Mr. Jack
Ever since the Ravensburger Game of the Year "Scotland Yard" and the classic Cluedo "is a detective and Investigation games are a popular theme for board games. The game Mr. Jack by Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc takes no less than Jack the Ripper, the protagonists in one of the biggest criminal cases in history as an example.
Thus there are also the roles quickly spread: A player takes on the role of the notorious serial killer, the other takes over the police investigation trying to catch Jack. Mr. Jack can only be played in pairs. On a good two-player games, it really is still lacking, although there are many multiplayer - games are also good for two playable.
The backdrop for our manhunt is London's Whitechapel district in 1888. On the streets there cavort 8 people who are afflicted with all the suspicion of being Jack. Only the player who plays Jack, knows the person really is the culprit. He has to play at the beginning a person with the appropriate character map drawn and put aside.
In 8 laps to go now on Mr. Jack and the investigators to drag the people and enable their special abilities. Through houses, construction sites, blocking drains and pulling is complicated, but sometimes also facilitated. Street lamps to ensure that there are suspects in the visible or invisible range.
After all these correspond to an "interview follows" the suspects. Mr. Jack needs to reveal whether he is in daylight or in darkness. All documents in the other area so people are automatically guilty. Thus, decreases from round to round the circle of suspects.
Mr. Jack can win the game only if he either escapes from the city - to stand at four corners, escape routes available, but might be inaccessible by barriers - or he will remain undetected until the eighth round.
The inspector, however, has arrested Mr. Jack to win the game. He has only one chance to by a person directly to the field of suspects and the accused person makes. In this case, the game always ends either in favor or to the detriment of Mr. Jack.
Mr. Jack A game lasts about 20 minutes, with not too long and already makes the game enjoyable because of the material fun. However, some skills do not appear to be very effective thus creating tactics in the game rarely real depth. But it is entertaining, and after the game will reveal the players almost automatically, and discuss their respective strategies.
