Lost Cities

Author: Janina in Lost Cities

lostcities Lost Cities is a fascinating play by Rainer Knizia from the cosmos publishing house where it happens rapidly, forcing the players into risky adventures, if you want to win the game.

Particularly appealing is the short preparation time, except for mixing of the cards and spread out the schedule is nothing else to do. The game can be accurately established as soon as the game during gaining speed.

At every turn there is a card or take off, then a move to the new batch. The game ends when the deck is depleted.

The cards, which are available in five different colors have different values 2 to 10, and three incurs for each color. At the start of each expedition can be a put up to three incurs, which may prove to be the end of the trip as a good multipliers. Each player can now start an expedition in each color range, may be filed with the cards in either ascending or descending order of value. Whichever way you choose, can be selected separately for each color, but must then be met consistently.

If you only mismatching cards in hand, you can take a card on the field of the corresponding color of the draw. Instead of getting drawn against Ziehstapel a card, a player can now decide when redrawing the map for a card from the game board. However, only the top card of each stack.

The score, however, some pitfalls. Like any journey, the expedition will cost something, namely 20 rating points. Thus we have from the outset to plan well, what a journey it takes up, and what may not be profitable enough, so we slip into the red. This design is quite difficult with only eight cards in hand. Each player then calculates the values of his expeditions, deducts the expenses and multiplying each row with two, three or four, depending on the number of laid at the beginning incurs. This applies to multiplication for negative points.

The game has very simple rules, so it needs no long preoccupation with the rules of the game. Lost Cities is a small but beautiful game, which initially appears as a pure gambling. However, it has played a few games, you develop little strategies to minimize the luck factor. One is dependent on one's cards a little luck is kind, only then it is possible to develop their own strategies. If this is missing me, speaks not only that, but the short duration and extremely entertaining round of games fun for a lot more ...
