Bangkok klong
Bangkok Klong of Martin Schlegel comes with a rather unusual theme. It puts us in the waterways of the Thai capital, Bangkok, in the flurry of commercial activity there. These channels are called on them and Klongs countless dealers are traveling with their small boats, baskets of goods in which they bring to the man.
Accordingly, boats, baskets and merchandise the spice in this game, the game board from a mixture of Klongs and it is adjacent jetties. They are divided into the klong four berths, but which may be occupied by only three-quarters of one per boat.
Thus, the players alternately distributed randomly drawn boats on the klong quartered. The boats can either be assigned to dealers own figures or they are controlled by a neutral merchants. Some dealers solve also a neutral rating on the market bar for which there are points at once. Eventually it will come to the small market day, when one examines the market head the floating markets and distributes appropriate bonus points.
This continues until the last and so the big market day is reached. Who now expects the game will end, proved wrong, because the ensuing final scoring has it in itself and can be recognized as a full game section. The necessary removal of here own boats or neutral poses again several ways to generate points.
Only after can be evaluated in the large market day no longer can it comes to the real final scoring, the collected goods are classified and evaluated according to their quantity. The victory now on the point bar located at the front player wins the game.
In Bangkok Klong thus takes place three times the settlement. Once through direct placement of neutral traders, then by evaluating the baskets in the market day, and finally by evaluating the merchandise at the end game.
Multiplication gain
The game decides mainly by multiplying the baskets and dealers. Players, just pull the boat without losing baskets, almost inevitably lack multiplier. Despite or perhaps because of the game reached a decent complexity, because it is not easy to find the best place in the narrow klong. So you'd lie down for a boat with too many baskets, where many dealers have their own way, less lucrative, one would rather use boats to block the opponent.
The luck factor plays a significant role, because the boats are pulled completely obscured. Martin Schlegel recommended for equalization of the random element, a variation in the neutral and other boats can be pulled in separate piles.
The game material is completely without playing cards, since the take over made of sturdy cardboard boats that task. Graphically, Bangkok Klong extremely successful. Overall it is an original and sophisticated parlor game that offers simple rules thanks to a good start for the casual gamer, but thanks to generate its manifold possibilities, Victory Points, the expert also challenged among us.
